Handsling TR3evo bikes in UCI Track Champions League

If you've been glued to the drama of the UCI Track Champions League, you will have seen three Handsling TR3evos flying round the boards.

Italy's Francesca Selva, Amalie Olsen of Denmark and Team GB rider Sophie Lewis are going wheel-to-wheel with the world's top pros in the scratch and elimination races.

In the first round in Mallorca, Francesca was on the wheel of the leaders and poised to make a move when disaster struck - a rear wheel puncture. Luckily she still has four more rounds to make amends.

Francesca hopes that the time perfecting her position on her TR3evo will pay dividends. Prior to the event, she went to the master of slippery bike design, Dimitris Katsanis (below), to see how his company, Mythos, could help her on race day.

Mythos

Katsanis is a former track cyclist and coach, who became an engineer. He started Metron Advanced Equipment, a 3D printing company and Mythos, which specialises in bike components.

Francesca's signature Mythos TX-1.1 handlebar was designed for use in mass-start track events, allowing riders to adopt a sustainable aero position. The bars are shaped in such a way as to give riders six different ways to hold them. She travelled to Mythos’ UK headquarters to work on her set-up, then fine tuned her position at the Silverstone wind tunnel. See her video here

Look out for Francesca and her special TR3evo set up at the next rounds in Berlin, Paris and London. Will her aerodynamic set up make the difference? Will Sophie Lewis (below) repeat her scratch race heroics of last season? Can Amalie announce herself on the world stage? Catch the action live on Eurosport and GCN.
