Handsling-sponsored Ryan Christensen claimed a superb top 10 in The Traka, widely considered Europe's biggest gravel race with a stacked field of pro riders.
Riding a Handsling CEXevo with Shimano 105 Di2 groupset, the Kiwi privateer completed Girona's epic 195km course in 6hrs and 10mins. His average speed on the grit, mud, and sand was an incredible 31kph.
The result is the latest in a string of superb elite performances in the UCI Gravel World Series. He narrowly missed out on an elite podium in The Gralloch, puncturing with 15km to go to finish 9th.
Other highlights include 4th at Worthersee Gravel in Austria and 5th at Giro Saregna in Italy, leaving him 2nd overall in the series standings.
