Carbon fibre frame, hydraulic disc brakes, electric gears, and now a wirelessly-operated rear hub shifter... welcome to the future of cycling.
Introducing the A1R0evo Classified Powershift - a game-changing 1x superbike that takes cycling tech to another level.
The bike combines the race-proven A1R0evo frame - designed by Handsling from scratch - with Classified's two-speed shifting system integrated in the rear hub that allows riders to shift wirelessly between two ratios.
This is a bike for riders who want a whole new cycling experience - one with smooth and quiet gear change under massive power outputs. Antwerp-based Classified says shifting takes 150 milliseconds under loads of up to 1,000 watts. Cycling legends Philippe Gilbert, Tom Boonen and Marcel Kittel liked the kit so much, they invested in the business.
Instead of a typical 2x Shimano Ultegra chainring, the build features a striking 52t 1x ring from Alugear (above). Notice the absence of the front mech, which compensates for the weight of the rear hub. It is paired with Ultegra cranks, Di2 rear mech and an Ultegra hydraulic brakeset. Classified's own one-piece steel cassette is built onto a Parcours Strade carbon wheelset.
The size 56 A1R0evo in Flame Orange is now available to test at our Hampshire workshop. The undulating local roads offer the chance to cruise along the flat in something like a 52 x 15 gear ratio, then instantly drop down to roughly 40 x 16/17 with the press of a button when you hit the hills. We've tried it out and love the clean look of a 1x without sacrificing the gear range of 2x.
The Powershift is already offered as an option on the versatile CEXevo as a gravel bike or all-road machine. Contact us on sales@handslingbikes.com for more information or to book a test ride.
