The Handsling A1R0evoS is the ultimate carbon road frame for those seeking to build a lightweight superbike. Using the same moulds as for the A1R0evo, the A1R0evoS utilises Toray T1100 carbon fibre, which requires less material to achieve the same level of frame stiffness, thereby resulting in a lighter frame that is still as stiff as our race winning T800 series frame
Both frames were designed 100% in-house and engineered by one of the best in the business who put them through a rigorous, destructive, stress testing procedure to surpass ISO standards in factory, before being road tested here in the UK
The UCI-approved frames are manufactured using bladder wrapped internal EPS moulds. which provide increased carbon compaction of the light and stiff Toray carbon fibre in the unique moulds owned exclusively by Handsling
This results in a size 52 frameset weighing approximately 770g (+/-) for the A1R0evoS, comfortably building into a bike of less than 7kgs, and 920g (+/-) for the A1R0evo, building into a bike of less than 7.5kgs
The frames have fantastic handling, with neutral geometry that is stable on descents, while being fast-reacting and nimble through the turns, remaining ready to respond in all situations
The stiff and aero hourglass head tube design leads into an oversized downtube that flairs out to a full width BB86 bottom bracket shell. BB86 press fit is still the ultimate bottom bracket standard for high performance frames. Handsling refuses to compromise on this and adopt cheaper to produce threaded units
The front fork is asymmetric in design to withstand the severe twisting forces imposed by modern discs under hard braking. The rear chainstays are also asymmetric but to withstand the pedalling forces applied from the chainset on the driveside at the rear triangle
The tube shapes are all truncated, D-shaped aerofoils, including the seatpost, making the A1R0evoS aerodynamic in all conditions, and the integrated cables provide clean aero lines to further cheat the wind
While stiff and aero, the frames were developed as do-it-all road frames, being optimised for all-day comfort, with the uniquely tapered seattube and narrow seatpost design helping to absorb road vibration, plus there's room for big 32mm tyres (in testing we even fitted 33mm cyclocross tyres for off-road tests)
The thin seatpost is an aero, truncated D-shape and utilises a non-stick seat clamp expander bolt hidden under the top tube
The A1R0evoS framesets include:
- Integrated 1.5" headset bearings
- Dedicated aero seatpost
- Handsling superlight thru axles 142x12mm and 100x12mm
- Clamp for standard saddle rails. Please request clamp for carbon oval saddle rails if required
The Handsling integrated race handlebar is sold separately. The one piece carbon stem and handlebar is available in either 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13cm stem lengths with either 36, 38, 40 or 42cm widths
All Handsling frames have a limited lifetime warranty
When your frame arrives, it’s 95% assembled, just insert the seat post.
Your custom-built frame will be delivered in approximately 6 weeks*, depending on your chosen options.

The Handsling A1R0evo is the ultimate carbon fibre road frame. It is stiff, robust, lightweight, with clearance for up to 32mm tyres.
The A1R0evo will do everything well, from storming tight city centre crits to conquering steep mountain passes to floating over Belgian cobbles.
Manufactured using Toray T800 carbon, one of the strongest, toughest carbons on the market internal EPS internal moulds used for increased carbon compaction, eliminating small imperfections to make the frame tougher, lighter, and stiffer rigorous, destructive testing procedure to surpass ISO standards.
The frame was designed in-house from scratch to achieve real world aerodynamic performance combined with the toughness to sustain minor knocks.
Handsling are in the fortunate position of being able to control all aspects of production and actually own the moulds which we use to make our bikes.
Tested and developed in race conditions, the UCI-approved A1R0evo excels in multiple scenarios - from tight city centre streets to steep mountain passes to cruising on a club ride.

It's fast in racing, but also handles really well, which is important when I’m cornering in a criterium or road race
Great quality frameset which is outstanding to ride. Speed & comfort rarely come together on a road bike but my A1R0evo has it mastered.
The bike (itself) is fast, it climbs, its stable, it handles brilliantly, inspires confidence at speed and is comfortable; for an aero bike anyway.
The bike is super smooth but also has really sharp handling and just feels fast.
