This is the incredible machine that featured at the UK's biggest bike show. The glittering Handsling A1R0evo road bike is bespoke in almost every department: paint scheme, wheels, finishing kit - even stem bolts. It turned heads (and dropped jaws) when it featured alongside other top machines at Jaw Droppers, the custom bike competition held April's the Cycle Show in London.
Another level of customisation
This A1R0evo is a special project for Handsling's Operations Manager, who wanted a bike that would really catch the eye. We worked with our paint shop to choose the deep candy green and incorporate unique design elements, including a personalised top tube logo. The bike was built to the rider's exact size requirements, with stem length, handlebar width, and headset spacers all dialled in to optimise comfort and performance.
Finished to perfection
When you bling up a paint scheme, the finishing kit has to match. The Selle San Marco saddle and Selle San Marco Presa Corsa bar tape were the perfect choices, echoing the shimmering gold vinyl of the Handsling logo.
The wheel deal
The one-of-a-kind Parcours Chrono wheelset is the result of Parcours' exclusive partnership with materials experts Hypetex, whose patented colouring technology allows for the paint-free gold carbon finish. Not only is the bike a work of art, it also showcases the innovation of two UK-based bike brands.
Dura-Ace as you've never seen it before
The bike is fitted with Shimano's top-of-the-range Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, featuring 170mm cranks, 52/36t chainrings and a 11-30t cassette. You might not see them at first, but the small details matter. For the drivetrain, we added extra sparkle with gold crank bolts, crank arm pre tensioner, and jockey wheel bolts. The rest of the bike includes Handsling Race Integrated carbon handlebars fitted with a set of gold stem bolts and a Handsling Aero D-shaped carbon seatpost.
Showing off at the Cycle Show
Handsling was proud to feature at Jaw Droppers on the 20th edition of the UK's biggest cycle show. Held at Alexandra Palace in London, the show combined an indoor exhibition, theatre shows with some of cycling’s greatest names, displays of one-off bespoke machines and ultra rare historic bikes. The show and the press coverage it generated was another big moment for Handsling in 2023 following the announcement of headline sponsorship of the DAS-Handsling Women's UCI Continental team.
