Handsling–Alba Winter Training Camp on the A1R0evoS

Handsling–Alba have wrapped up their first team camp of the season, bringing the full squad together in Spain’s Costa Blanca - a region long favoured by cyclists for its warm winter weather, quiet roads and varied terrain. The week delivered everything the riders needed: big days in the hills, fast coastal miles, and the chance to build the cohesion that underpins a successful season.

While the on‑bike workload is important, the team emphasised that the real value of camp goes beyond training numbers. With riders and staff gathered in one place, it was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, sharpen the team ethos and simply enjoy time together before the race calendar accelerates.

That calendar is the team’s most ambitious yet, featuring:

• 65 races
• Over 100 race days
• 13 countries

Racing begins later this month at the British Track Championships before the squad heads straight into its first European block in Belgium and Italy. Handsling Alba Development Road Team is a Scottish‑based women’s elite development programme, supporting riders across road, track, cyclocross and XC. With long‑term ambitions that include progression to UCI Pro Continental status, the 2027 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, the LA 2028 track and road competitions, and this summer’s 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the team enters the new season focused, united and excited for what lies ahead.

 2026 sees the team upgrade their bikes to the A1R0evoS. The A1R0evoS is Handsling’s ultimate road racing frame. Built using the same moulds as the A1R0evo but constructed from ultra‑high‑modulus Toray T1100 carbon fibre, it retains the A1R0evo’s renowned ride characteristics: lightweight climbing performance, stability on descents and razor‑sharp cornering. The upgraded carbon layup reduces weight while still exceeding ISO standards and maintaining full UCI approval.
