Meet the team - Handsling Alba Development Road Team

The Handsling Alba Development Road Team - Alba for short - are a Scottish based women's elite development cycling team. Alba was set up to provide riders with support, guidance, mentoring and a race programme to fulfil their potential and achieve individual aspirations. The team will be racing in the UCI Women's Continental category both here in the UK and in Europe.

After a successful 2024 the team has taken on new riders to bolster the team and give those new riders a chance to develop their potential. So let's take a look at the team roster for 2025.

Keira Bond

"I am thrilled to be continuing my cycling journey with Alba for 2025, following a successful season of learning and growing! I have big dreams for the upcoming season and am so grateful for the opportunity to be an Alba girl again.

I am excited to use the supportive team environment that Alba has created to further develop as a rider to find my footing in the European peloton!"

Lauren Dickson

"After joining mid 2024, I’m really excited to continue learning and developing with Alba. We have a really strong team and guidance - I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve.

This year I want to develop as a rider, both physically and in terms of race craft, and perform to the best of my abilities across the UK and Europe. I dream of turning professional and I hope to achieve results that make this goal possible."

Neah Evans

"Looking forward to having a supportive, up and coming team to help me become a more established road racer.

I have decided to take a different direction this year and make road racing my primary focus. I am looking to race at every opportunity to try and upskill and develop myself as a road rider."

Amy Gornall

"I’m excited to join Alba, a team with a strong ethos for developing riders. I’m looking forward to a fresh environment that will challenge me and provide new opportunities to further my growth and development.

In 2025, I aim to continue my development, contribute to team victories, secure a top-20 GC result in a stage race, and stand on the podium of a National Series race."

Arianne Holland

"I am very excited to be returning to Alba for my 4th year with the team. Having developed as a rider as the team has grown I am looking forward to embracing the opportunities 2025 will bring and ready to get stuck in to racing.

This year I’m really hoping to grow and learn as an individual and as a team in Europe, whilst being at the pointy end of races in the UK and hopefully bringing back some results!"

El King

"I'm really excited to be joining Alba in 2025! Watching the team race with such intensity and professionalism, winning both the National Road and Crit Series, while maintaining the enjoyment, made my decision an easy one. After a few seasons disrupted by illness and injury, I’m eager to continue developing as a rider and push myself to reach my full potential.

My aspirations for the season are to take every opportunity with both hands and to play a role in helping the team achieve as many results as possible."

Maddie Leech

"I’m really looking forward to the 2025 road season and building on what I’ve learnt during the past two seasons whilst racing in Europe. Alba has created a really supportive team environment and I like the way that rider development is at the heart of everything they do. I’m excited to be a part of the team and can’t wait to see what we can all achieve together.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck into some international racing, building my confidence and physical level. Later in the season I’m also hoping to reclaim my U23 national TT title and put in strong performances in the national road race and Crit."

Beth Morrow

"So pleased to be riding for Alba again this year, the environment and support is unmatched and I can’t wait for another great year of racing!

“I am looking forward to another great season of riding the A1R0evo with Handsling Alba, I am aiming to improve on previous seasons performances, in terms of my individual results but also building on our progress as a team, I hope to make the most of the exciting opportunities we have this year!”

Abi Plowman

"I enjoyed experiencing UCI racing for the first time last year with Alba, learnt a lot, and there's plenty more learning to be done this season. We have a really great group of girls and amazing team support, so 2025 should be a good one.

This season I'm looking forward to experiencing more UCI racing in Europe, continuing to learn and grow in confidence. I'm hoping to target some of the hillier races on home soil."

Mari Porton

"I couldn’t be happier to be joining Alba Development Road Team as I step up into the U23 category. With the support and opportunities provided by the team, I’m confident that this is the right place for the next step in my journey and I’m excited to learn from the team around me and continue to grow and develop as a rider both on the domestic and continental scenes."

Amelia Tyler

"I have been riding with Alba for two years and I am super excited for another year of racing with the team and achieving great things. Last year we all took great steps forward by going to Europe and I know with the level of support on Alba and our team dynamics we are going to have an amazing season.

I am excited to race as part of the dominant team in the UK and expand our presence on the continent. Riding a Handling instils  confidence, empowering the team to achieve victories this season."

The Handsling Alba Development Road Team are once again riding the A1R0evo road bike.
